Ohiopyle State Park

Ohiopyle may be one of my favorite parks. It is a little far away (in Fayette County), but the waterfalls and hiking trails are beautiful. Cucumber Falls are a popular spot for wading, hiking, and exploring. One of the most exciting things to do there is to hike behind the waterfall (just be careful, it can be slippery). Another popular spot are the natural rock slides. These slides were carved out by the stream, and are perfect for cooling off on a hot day. Remember to bring your bathing suit! If you plan in advance, white-water rafting is also an option on the Youghiogheny River. With options for every age (and experience level), there is a guided white-water tour for everyone. There is also a limestone biking trail that stretches from Pittsburgh to Washington, DC. One of the hiking trails available is the Laurel Highlands Trail, which ends in Johnstown, PA 70 miles away. Although these are not in the park, Frank Lloyd Wright's architectural wonders, Kentuck Knob and Fallingwater, are very close by. Camp at Ohiopyle for a weekend and try all of these activities!

The street address is 124 Main St, Ohiopyle, PA 15470.
